What choosing a paid plan costs right now

The numbers the plan-change confirmation shows, and exactly what POST /api/billing/subscribe will then issue. Admin only.

  • From Free / a trial / an ended period (kind=new): the full price; the paid period starts now. Nothing is prorated against or stacked onto a free month.
  • From another paid plan mid-period (kind=change): the new plan starts now at its full price. The unused value of the current period (remaining time x the price actually paid) is subtracted; a higher new price leaves amount_due_cents to pay, a lower one leaves credit_cents that is credited to the wallet.
  • The plan already held (kind=renew_early): one more period stacked onto the current one.

Rounding: each prorated amount is rounded to the nearest cent, halves up. A positive amount below the minimum card charge (minimum_charge_cents, $0.50) is raised to it. Amounts are tax-exclusive; tax_cents is added.
