How this service is done, and what it uses up

GET 
/api/catalog/items/:catalogItem/variants

A variant is not a rule to be evaluated — it is chosen by WHO is doing the work, which makes it a lookup. "Ayşe does it with X, Burak with Y" is two variants and a join, not a language.

Selectors are an OR-list: "Ayşe or Burak do it this way" is one variant with two selectors, not two variants.

Resolution order, fixed and boring on purpose: the first variant (by sort_order) with a selector among the chosen resources, else the service's default, else nothing — and nothing means no recipe, which is the normal case for most services in most businesses.
