A dry answer: the variant is resolved for the resources given and the recipe is added up. Nothing is consumed and nothing is held — R5 is what turns this into a movement.

Quantities for the same stock item are ADDED: two services that both use the same gel use it twice, and two separate lines let somebody order one bottle for a day that needs two.
