Connect Google Ads

Connect your Google Ads account and ConnectWiz sends it your real results — leads, appointments, won deals and their value — as offline conversions, credited to the ad click that brought each person. Smart bidding then learns from customers rather than from page views.

ConnectWiz reads your accounts and conversion actions and sends conversions. It never creates, changes or pauses campaigns, ads or budgets.

Plan and permission

Google Ads conversion upload is part of the Pro plan and above, and open during the trial. Setting it up needs the Manage integrations permission (integrations.manage).

This page is about sending conversions to Google Ads. Bringing Google Ads lead form leads into ConnectWiz is a separate connection, under Leads.

Before you start: in your Google Ads account

  1. Create the conversion actions. In Google Ads, go to Goals › Conversions › New conversion action › Import and choose Import from clicks (other kinds cannot receive uploads). Make one for each result you want to count, for example Lead, Appointment and Sale. Enable them.
  2. Turn on enhanced conversions for leads in the account's conversion settings, and accept the customer data terms Google shows there. Without them Google cannot match a person by their hashed e-mail and phone; only conversions that carry a Google click id can be matched.
  3. Make sure your privacy notice covers sharing hashed contact details with Google for ad measurement.

Connect

Go to Settings → Integrations and open Google Ads (conversion upload) (under Advertising).

  1. Press Connect with Google and sign in with a Google account that has access to your Google Ads account. You are taken to Google and brought back — no password or key is typed in ConnectWiz. Leave both permissions ticked on Google's page: reading your Google Ads accounts and sending conversions.

  2. Google Ads account: choose the account whose campaigns bring you customers — the Customer ID shown at the top of Google Ads (123-456-7890). If you reach it through a manager (MCC) account, choose that under Manager account (optional) too. A manager account itself cannot receive conversions; pick the advertiser account under it. Press Use this account.

  3. Which conversion each event counts as: match each ConnectWiz event to one of the account's Import from clicks actions:

    EventMeans
LeadA form submission, or a first WhatsApp message with a website ref code.
    AppointmentAn appointment is booked.
SaleA deal is won, with its value.
Deal stages (optional)A deal reaches a stage you consider a step forward, such as Qualified.

An event left on Not sent is never sent. Press Save.

Choosing another account later (Change) clears the matching: conversion actions belong to an account.

What exactly goes, and when — including value changes and cancelled sales — is in Send conversions to Meta and Google Ads.

What reaches Google

What reaches Google counts the last 28 days: Reached Google, Failed, Not sent and Held back by consent. Under it, What is sent when lists each trigger and what it sends, for the events you matched.

  • Each conversion is matched on the Google click id from the visitor's ad click, or on the person's hashed e-mail and phone. With neither, nothing is sent (Not sent).
  • Held back by consent are events from people with no consent ConnectWiz can demonstrate, from website visitors who did not give the explicit ad-measurement consent, or from visitors who declined ads. They are never sent, by design. A website visitor who accepted marketing cookies but not ad measurement goes as the ad click alone, without personal data. See Consent.

In Google Ads the conversions appear on the matched actions after Google has processed them, which takes some hours.

Disconnect

Disconnect stops sending. The chosen account and the event matching are kept, so connecting again picks up where you left off.
