Quickstart

Right after you create a workspace, ConnectWiz opens a short setup tour. It asks for what the AI assistant needs to answer on your behalf, helps you connect a channel when your plan or promotion includes one, and ends with the switch that puts the assistant to work. You do not have to find any settings screen first.

The tour runs in the web panel and in the mobile app; progress is shared, so you can start on one and finish on the other.

The steps

  1. Tell us about your business. Name, what you do, your products or services with prices, frequently asked questions, opening hours, and when the assistant should hand a conversation to a person. Pick a tone (friendly, professional or casual) and the reply language. From these answers ConnectWiz fills in your company details and writes the assistant's instructions. You can change both later under Settings → Company and Settings → AI assistant.
  2. Connect your channel — only when your tour includes one, and always optional. With an event promotion that includes Instagram, this step signs you in with Instagram and connects your professional account. Not ready? Press Skip for now: nothing else waits for it, and you can still switch the AI on. Connect it later from Settings → Channels; the step ticks itself as soon as the channel is connected, wherever you connect it from.
  3. Try it, then switch the AI on. Try it first opens the AI Playground, where you chat with your assistant the way a customer would — it is still off for your customers. Switch it on from the Playground, or come back to the tour and press Activate AI. Either way you are asked to confirm, and the assistant starts answering on your website chat and on the channel you connected.

Without a promotion the tour switches on the standard website chat assistant only; it does not connect a channel.

Try it first

Before customers hear from your assistant, you can hear from it yourself. Try it first on the last step opens the AI Playground:

  • Ask what your customers ask — prices, opening hours, an order, something the assistant should hand to a person — and see each answer with the sources it used. The test uses the same AI model the assistant will use once it is on, and its cost comes from the same credit.
  • Nothing reaches a customer while you test: the assistant stays off until you switch it on.
  • Back to setup returns you to the tour's last step, not to its beginning.
  • Activate AI in the Playground does exactly what the tour's button does, with the same checks and the same confirmation. Afterwards Finish setup shows the tour's closing page.

Trying is a suggestion, not a requirement: Activate AI stays on the tour's last step too. In the mobile app the button opens the same test screen you find under Menu → AI training → Test the bot, with the same bar.

Finishing without the AI

Finish without AI ends the tour and leaves the assistant off. You are asked to confirm, because the tour then stops offering itself: you can still switch the AI on at any time under Settings → AI assistant, or run the tour again yourself (see below).

Leaving and coming back

Close the tour whenever you like. Until you switch the AI on or finish without it, a Continue setup button waits in the panel's top bar and at the top of the mobile inbox. Once the tour is finished that button goes away.

Running it again

The tour never reopens by itself, but an administrator can run it again at any time from My business & setup — Run setup again — either where it left off or from the beginning. Your settings are kept and every step opens filled in from them. The same page shows how far your setup is and lets you change everything the tour asks about without running it.

Before you switch it on

The tour tells you when switching on would not produce replies yet:

  • No AI credit — the assistant runs on ConnectWiz's AI service, which is paid from your credit. With no credit it stays silent. A promotion's credit counts only for the AI model the promotion names.
  • AI service unavailable — the switch (and Try it first) is disabled until it is back.
  • Business details missing — save the first step's answers first; the assistant needs them to answer.
  • A channel not connected yet — mentioned, not a problem: the assistant starts on your website chat, and you can connect the channel later in Settings → Channels. On the setup page and the progress card that channel is marked Optional.

Only administrators (people who may change AI settings) see the tour.
